This Lean Process Improvement training course provides comprehensive knowledge and practical skills required to identify and eliminate waste, streamline processes, and enhance value creation within any organization. Based on the foundational principles of the Toyota Production System, this program equips participants with methodologies for mapping value streams, implementing continuous improvement (Kaizen), and utilizing key Lean tools to optimize workflows, reduce costs, improve quality, and enhance overall operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Module 1: Introduction to Lean Thinking
What is Lean? Definition, History (Toyota Production System), and Philosophy.
Lean vs. Six Sigma: Understanding the Synergies and Differences.
The Five Critical Improvement Concepts: Value, Waste, Variation, Complexity, Continuous Improvement.
The Toyota Production System House.
Key Lean Terminology and Concepts (Muda, Mura, Muri).
Module 2: Identifying Value and Waste
Understanding Customer Value: Applying the Kano Model.
The Three Categories of Waste (Muda): Defects, Overproduction, Waiting, Non-utilized Talent, Transportation, Inventory, Motion, Extra Processing.
Identifying Mura (Unevenness) and Muri (Overburden).
Value-Added vs. Non-Value-Added Activities.
Conducting a Waste Walk.
Module 3: Lean Tools for Process Streamlining
5S Methodology: Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain for workplace organization.
Value Stream Mapping (VSM): Current State vs. Future State Mapping to visualize flow and identify waste.
Gemba (Go and See) and Genchi Genbutsu (Go to the Source).
Introduction to Kanban (Visual Management) and Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing).
Module 4: Creating Flow and Pull
Principles of Creating Continuous Flow: Eliminating Bottlenecks and Delays.
Implementing a Pull System: Producing based on Customer Demand.
Reducing Batch Sizes and Lead Times.
Standard Work and Work Balancing.
Module 5: Continuous Improvement (Kaizen) and Problem Solving
The Philosophy of Kaizen: Small, Incremental Improvements.
Types of Kaizen Events (e.g., Kaizen Blitz).
The Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) Cycle for Experimentation and Learning.
Introduction to the R-DMAIC-S Model (Recognize, Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control, Sustain).
Root Cause Analysis Techniques (e.g., 5 Whys, Ishikawa/Fishbone Diagrams).
Module 6: Implementing and Sustaining Lean
Data Gathering and Mapping Tools (Flow Charts, SIPOC Diagrams).
Tips for Effective Data Analysis in Lean Projects.
Creating a Lean Enterprise: Characteristics and Culture.
Overcoming Roadblocks and Pitfalls to Lean Implementation.
Developing a Lean Implementation Plan for Your Organization.
Sustaining Improvements and Fostering a Culture of Continuous Improvement.
Participants enrolling for this programme will be required to have a minimum of 3 years’ professional experience. Participants who meet the programme requirement should pay the course fee and complete the enrollment form 2 weeks before the programme kick off date
