Employment Tips: Using Linkedin To Get A Job

I recently assisted a few of our ex-participants get jobs via and I thought I should share the methods used with you. Follow the steps below and I hope they work for you. Cheers.

1.Create an account on  (If you already have an account move on to step 2)

2. Decide on the type of job you want to get or the role you are interested in.(Tip: Role could be e.g. project manager, health and safety officer, customer service rep, business developer, marketing/sales rep, ICT specialist etc.)

3. Update your profile, these will include your professional experience, education, certifications, associations and memberships, and volunteer work. (Tip: Ensure your profile is focused on the role you have chosen, please put a lot of time into this process it’s your advert to employers. If you don’t have additional certifications, or skills check out for courses)

4. Upgrade your account from the basic to premium account.

  • Click on upgrade
  • Select the ‘For Job Seekers’ option
  • Click the ‘monthly’ option (that is what I recommend)
  • Start Now with the ‘$29.99/MO’ (that is what I recommend)
  • Click ‘Start Now’ (You will need your ATM card to complete the payment)

5. Once you are done with the subscription, linkedin will match your profile with jobs that fit your skills and qualifications, and also check out job vacancies and apply for the ones you meet the requirements.

I wish you the best.
